The Toothless Wonder

My baby just lost his first tooth! This is a big moment in history. At least in the history of Walker. Now, when we discovered that said tooth was loose, Walker was very upset! His exact words were "I don't want to loose any teeth. They need to stay right where they are. Call the dentist tomorrow and tell him to fix my tooth!" Needless to say, we didn't make a big deal about the loose tooth for quite some time. In fact, just last week I noticed how loose it really was. By then Walker was used to messing with it. Yesterday morning, I wiggled it and it was barely hanging on. He wouldn't let me pull it, so I sent him on to class knowing that some time during the day, it was coming out.

At about 10:00 while I was talking on the phone with Trey, Walker and Mrs. Lala (have I mentioned we love her) proudly walked into my office displaying big grins and a baggie was a tooth! All four of us were so excited!

Last night Walker put his tooth in the Tooth Fairy pillow and off to sleep he went. Trey woke him this morning to check for his tooth. What a nice tooth fairy. She left Walker $1.50 for his tooth.

This is the first of many teeth to make their way to Tooth Fairy Land. It's good to know that Walker isn't scarred for life because of a lost tooth. Growing up is hard work!

Goodbye Summer....Hello School!!

It's back to the routine of school and all the busyness it brings such as football games, 4-H meetings and heifer projects. The boys had a great first week of school. Walker's favorite part of the day is "lunch". Weston likes being able to sit by his friends and change classes, and Mac is joining band this year. My babies are all with me during the day. It's great to see them all throughout the day and smile at them in the halls! Mac is in 6th grade, Weston is in 4th grade and Walker is in kinder.

This is Mrs. Lala, Walker's teacher. She is fabulous!
She has taught all three boys AND
Trey and his sisters. We LOVE Mrs. Lala!

Walker loves to ride the bus home. That will probably wear off soon. The big boys hope so anyway, since they have to ride it with him! It is really for the best that they come home on the bus or have Mirna pick them up. The first time Walker stayed after school with me in my office he answered my phone!!! I had to go to bus duty and told him NOT to play with my computers. But I forgot to tell him not to answer my phone!

The first day assembly for the intermediate campus was great. We played music and danced and held a "what not to wear" fashion show to explain the dress code. FUN! Mac agreed to model and wore ripped jeans, muscle shirt and flip flops. The girls even put earring stickers on his ears. I can't believe he agreed to that! Weston was a huge surprise! Unbeknownst to me, the music teacher and principal asked Trey to send my housecoat to school and Weston modeled the teacher what not to wear segment! I couldn't believe it! I was so surprised!

Football is really kicking into high gear. Weston had a scrimmage and Mac is doing well in practice. Both have their first games here this weekend. Go Tigers!!!

It's Football Season

The oldest two started youth league football practice last week. Today was the first day in full pads. They love football and they are both naturals. Trey helps coach Mac's team and our cousin Brent coaches Weston's team. This will be Mac's last year in youth league sports and then its on to middle school, the big leagues. I love football, too. I especially love anything my boys are doing and right now....they are doing football!!! Go Tigers!

Good job, Weston. Way to hustle!!!

Weston is getting ready for a kickoff. He likes being the kicker.

Down, set, hut!

Mac is in the middle of this picture. He's carrying the ball..and a few teammates!

Big Mac!!!

Walker was Dad's assistant.

Then he took over the coaching duties and the whistle.
Skip the youth league, he's going pro!!

Stay tuned for more football updates!

Happy Birthday to my Oldest Boy

Dear Mac,
Today you turned twelve. I can't believe it has been twelve years since the first time you entered the world. It is a better world because you are in it! You are so smart, kind-hearted and a hard worker. You love to pester your brothers but you are also very protective of them. You're a great student and an awesome athlete. You are growing to be a respectful young man. Always remember to show others your best and do your best in everything you do. Your dad and I love you more than you realize. You make us so proud, big Mac!!! Happy Birthday!

We all enjoyed a small family & friends party this evening. Ribs and chocolate cake was the menu, Mac's favorites. A recap of the presents: Rock Band 2 and Country Trak Pak, money, iTunes gift cards, a skinning knife, a clothes. He is a happy 12 year old! Here's hoping that year 12 will bring lots of good fortune and happy memories!!!

Birthday Buddies

Mac and Hudson are ten years apart almost to the day. This year Mac is 12 and Hudson is 2. They celebrated their birthdays again together this weekend at my dad's. We went to Joe Cotten's BBQ Saturday evening for a birthday dinner and then Sunday we enjoyed burgers, dirt cake and homemade ice cream. The boys had fun playing in the sprinkler. I bet the yard was really glad they wanted to play in the sprinkler, too!!!

Ft. Worth, Family & Fun

Last weekend the boys, my dad and I headed to Ft. Worth to spend time with my brother and his family. It was nice to get away. We saw GREEN grass and even RAIN!!! What are those things? We don't have any of that in south Texas right now.

Here's a quick recap of all we did.

We stopped at Cracker Barrell for Lunch on the way up. Walker only likes chocolate, so I told the boys to get him a chocolate bar. THIS is what they got him. Just call him
CHOCO MONSTER.....

Friday---Leanna and I took the boys to the Ft. Worth Zoo. What a great zoo!!! It is huge and the exhibits were great. The weather was nice and the boys were good. What more could we ask for? That evening Jody took my two big boys bowling.

Our animals at the zoo....

Weston feeding the birds.

Paying homage to the Goliad Tigers!!

Walker had tooo much fun!!!

Saturday---We all took the train to Dallas and headed to the circus. It was a great circus and everyone was entertained. Before the circus Jody, Mac and Weston checked out Cabella's. They all agreed they liked Bass Pro better.

Waiting on the train.

My three clowns!
Doesn't Mac look thrilled to have a red nose?!!

Sunday---Before we left, I took the boys to Keller Pointe for a quick splash at their little water park. Wish we had something like this in our town. It would be nice to hang out at a place like this. Then we loaded up the car and headed Southbound 35 (even listened to PG on the way home).

It was a great weekend. The boys love playing with Hudson and Walker loves playing with Hudson's toys. You know, he still likes being the baby! Thanks, JoJo and Aunt Lee and Hudson for having us! We love you!!!

Monday was back to work for me and this week has been full of dentist and eye dr. appointments before school starts. I finished summer school classes (Yeah, my last summer in grad school)! My dear sweet friend Michelle and I shopped, had dinner and saw The Ugly Truth. We laughed so hard we cried!!! Good flick!

Weston loved reading books with Hudson.

Best Buds

The gang!!

The prince on his raft!

P & Weston

Yesterday and today the big boys spent time with their good, good friends who have moved away to the Austin area. They have grown up together until about two years ago when they moved. D and P are the same ages and Mac and Weston, and Wes and P are only one month apart. They just pick up right where they left off each time they see each other. I hope they will always be best buds!

After rising late this morning (cause they stayed up til who knows when) and enjoying a game of hide & seek "country style" we headed to the pool to cool off and have some fun. It's 100 again today, just like every day this summer. But the guys had a blast together having races and chicken fights and doing something totally silly with some floats!

Now we are baking chocolate chips cookies for a late night snack and then, hopefully, they will hit the sack.

Chicken fights!!!

Fun with floats!!
